Tonal Guidelines

Alright!
So I don't think I've done an amazing job at explaining that I'm not really a musician by profession, which means that my knowledge of music theory is both empirical and incomplete.

So far a lot of the patch work I've done for VCV and what I explained yesterday was a lot more dependent on my understanding of texture devising and sound editing. But if I want the final version of the project to be fun to listen to I have to be aware of a more efficient way to convey the different moods that would be being conveyed through the narration. So far, the idea was to use the PROBKEY to change the note combination and adjust some of the rhytm patterns and effects, but it ended up being really complicated because a patch can continue to evolve endlessly and unless a clear division between the soundscapes is created, it would be really hard to change parameters through the code.

To solve this issue, I contacted a friend of mind that did study music and does have a broader understanding of musical coherence. After explaining the idea for the project and where I was we came up with this diagram.
Instead of trying to create one single patch that changes according to narrations I can create 2 communicating patches that change depending on similar moods.

For now, the project would generate 2 general moods , each expanding into 3 textures that represent specific moods, in theory, the code would track trough the keywords given in the narration and select which of this specific moods will be used and either change the parameters in the general mood's patch to accommodate or change to the other general mood and adapt.

Paul recommended that textures shouldn't be rationalized through binaries, and instead that changes between textures could occur progressively, with the final texture being played being the result of different parameters that may belong to different specific moods

In any case, the patch will be created with this structure in mind, and the use of parameters will be elaborated on through time, also following andres's advise, I will try to follow through using the following maps for both a chord structure and a set of notes that could be played using the tonal progressions.
